It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words. That always leads me to wonder what the going rate would be for a video. Do you multiple it by 24 for each second of video? If so, videos of this week are definitely worth all the books in the Library of Congress; while some move the heart, some bring in amazement and others are just for the girls. Take a dive and check out the latest viral sensations from the world’s top brands.
#1: LG G2 – Quick Overview
This advert from LG, true to its title is a ‘quick’ view of the brand’s newly launched smartphone, the LG G2. The quarter minute long video (obviously created as a TVC) crunches in the big features of the phone and puts the call to action in a crisp, to-the-point format. Big camera, HD screen and a long battery life; being a tech-challenged person, the ad tells me all that I need to know.
#2: White Marks Fail: Is That Sunblock in Your Armpits?
White marks from deodorants can be an embarrassment for us ladies. This ad shows how a girl loses all her confidence and becomes uncomfortable when the cute guy notices and, somewhat cruelly, points out, her under arm marks. Talk about drawing insights from daily life! The latest anti-perspirant from Secret Deodorant lasts 48 hours and leaves no marks. This ad was viewed over 30,000 times in just 2 days.
#3: Lancôme DreamTone Commercial – Dark Spot & Skin Tone Corrector Serum
This video, an advert from the brand Lancome, is a simple old fashioned ad. As the voice over describes the cosmetic product, the camera shows us a combination of models with perfect skin and the alluring serum bottles. In the last 2 days the video was viewed over 80,000 times and is still growing.
#4: OnStar Amazing – Crash
Road accidents (or incidents, as the police like to call them now) are unpredictable and you can’t always be prepared. Now, what if your car could be watching out for you? With Chevrolet and OnStar’s amazing new technology and with human integration, they offer this super cool feature where you get immediate human assistance in case of an emergency. Pretty cool, although the depiction of the
accident incident is a little bit over dramatized!
#5: Pantene Beautiful Lengths: Brittany’s Story
Curly or straight, blonde or burgundy, every girl loves her hair and it is a major part of her identity. Unfortunately for many cancer patients, losing your hair is just one more traumatic experience to go through. The truly beautiful initiative “beautiful lengths” by Pantene donates wigs to women with cancer. This video is the hope filled story of Brittany, who was a cancer patient herself and is now donating her hair to those who for whom it will make a difference. This initiative brightens up the otherwise depressing topic and really moves one’s heart. This video was viewed more than 1.5 million times within the week.
