December is one of the most special months of the year. Christmas, New Years and with all the gift shopping, celebrations are in full swing. While we’re already into 2014 and looking forward to new beginnings, take a moment (maybe more) to discover what happened in the most festive month of 2013.
Snacks were obviously a big deal as more people entertain guests around this time of the year; and so food and beverage brands had a good month. On Facebook, Doritos added 5.6 million new fans. Reese’s spoke a lot about recipes with their peanut butter cups and received over 5 times the engagement of the average brand from the sector
Predictably, Christmas giveaways and year reviews were big. Keurig celebrated the holidays with a one give away each day between the 1st- 12th of the month on Twitter and received great engagement on their hashtag #TwelveDaysofKeurig. Victoria’s Secret focused on the #vsfashionshow while Michael Kors generated buzz with their #StyleTip.
WestJet warmed everyone’s heart with the real time giving Miracle video. The video received over 34 million views in the month. YouTube put together all the popular moments on their social network and created a video of the year in rewind. This video gained over 87 million views.
The month also witnessed brands such as Turkish Airlines, McDonalds and many others bring on their A game. Take a look at our exclusive social media shakedown for December to find out more.
