2014 is already shaping up to be an amazing year for brands on social media. From pre-Super Bowl madness to contests and product launches, January brought warm tidings of a great year to come.
On Facebook, Tostito’s ran a contest asking fans for recipes that could be made on a single chip, Aveeno ran a 30 Day sweepstake and Sony promoted their Xperia Z1 and T2 phones. Each of these campaigns garnered impressive engagement for these brands.
Cartier attended the luxury watch event, ‘Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie’ in Geneva and their ‘SIHH’ related tweets engaged well for the brand. Chick-fil-A’s #StoryOfAClassic got good traction on Twitter, as did Kroger’s ‘30Days30Ways’ sweepstakes.
The Super Bowl dominated YouTube with most advertisers releasing game day spots on their official channels before their television premiere. Volkswagen gave their engineers wings, Hyundai USA gave us a “Nice” commercial, and SodaStream released the uncensored version of their controversial ad! With the Winter Olympics underway, P&G appreciated the role mothers play in raising Olympic athletes in their “Thank You Mom” advert, which struck a chord with many viewers.
