Sometimes figuring out your competitor’s social media strategy is about more than just getting metrics on their Facebook posts or Twitter Retweet count. You need insider knowledge on the marketing tools they use, the number of team members handling communications and how organizationally efficient they are overall. This helps you plan, staff and allocate your budget and technology resources to outdo the competition every step of the way.

In the Unmetric platform, you can discover the marketing tools competitor brands use to publish posts and tweets in a snap –

Step 1. Create Your Competitive Set

To get started, create your competitor set – You can do so by adding the desired Facebook Pages or Twitter Accounts to your main dashboard.

Step 2. Head Over to Admin Engagement or Tweets by Brand

Once that’s done, click on the Admin Engagement tab in Facebook or Tweets by Brand tab in Twitter.

Step 3. Analyze Tools Used to Publish & Number of Posts/Tweets

On the bottom right hand corner, you will notice ‘Tools Used to Publish’ or ‘Tweet Source’ – these sections in the tab tell you:

a) the different tools used by your competitors for their publishing activities. You can discover for instance, if it’s a top tier social media management tool or the Facebook or Twitter webpage itself.

b) the number of posts/tweets published using that tool. This is particularly helpful when you want to gauge the behavior of their social media teams online.
