Week 30 Top Brand Viral Videos: Does Samsung want to make you cry?

We’re back after our short break with the viral videos of the week. This week surprised us with extremes of ’emo’ and a laugh out loud funny. We saw the two extreme ends when it came to video length too; some shorter than 20 seconds, some longer than 5 minutes. Anyhow, these videos have yet again not failed to surprise and engage us. Take a look, we’re sure they’ll impress you too as they have already impressed hundreds of thousands of others.

Sparkly cutlery, shiny crockery and a crystal clean dish washer; what’s different about the advert you might ask, then again, how often does an ad for a dish cleaner go viral? This new commercial by Cascade has been viewed over 125,000 times on YouTube.
#2/ Whose Line Is It Anyway? – Who’s Back Preview
CW Television has brought back the much loved TV Show ‘Whose line is it anyway?’. Casting my mind back, my favorite game was always “Props” although maybe I didn’t get all the innuendo back then! Though the essence of the show remains, the cast and the host have been changed. Will they retain the old flavor or will it surprise us? Guess we will have to wait and watch.

If you are anything like the man in the video (or like me) you know the brand is talking to you. There might be a million phone mishaps in your life, but that doesn’t mean you have to lose any of those precious photos, videos and other docs that you’ve stored in the phone. Oh, and your contacts list! This video by SanDisk was viewed more than 40,000 times in just 4 days.

Two videos from the same channel making the top 5? That’s a new level of awesome! SanDisk has another video from its channel going viral. It runs on the same theme of ‘if you’re losing your phone, why loose the memories in it’. The guy raps away as he tells us why SanDisk fits every smart phone of yours.
#5/ Wind Chimes in a Bakery – Episode 1: The Loss
Samsung Malaysia has taken to acting. A Samsung mobile is all a young lad has that remains and reminds him of his late girlfriend. The brand has sponsored and created this web series to show how the phone is a true ‘life companion’. This highly emotional episode 1 seems to set the theme for the rest of the series. By the looks of it, people have begun to follow the series and it has opened to mixed responses. Will it be a grand success or an epic fail? For me personally, it has far too much emo and it doesn’t let me connect with the core characters.
