Every special holiday is a huge opportunity for brands to re-connect with their fans. All brands have done an incredible job of connecting the day with their brand and have brought forth emotional, cute, funny and attractive posts. Just like in last year’s post, we took a peek at how the top global brands celebrated Mother’s Day to engage their fans. Some used humor, some pulled at the heart strings and others just used half naked men to devastating effect.

P&G’s Mother’s Day Post had the most compelling call to action. The company promised to donate $1 for every share of the post to the Special Olympics. The post has so far gotten over 41,000 Shares so I’m sure they’ll hit their target pretty soon. The post itself was a video which traces the life of Eunice Shriver who initiated the Special Olympics.

Bath and Body Works made a post which was a literal win-win for both the fans and the company. B&BW told its fans they could “Share & WIN” and positioned it with a truly alluring picture of the goodies up for grabs. This post had the highest number of Comments and Shares out of all the Mother’s Day photos, so there’s a small takeaway, cute and furry might get you Likes, but what Mom’s really want is a bag full of goodies. While the fans won fantastic BBW gift hampers, the company won in terms of engagement.

Kraft Dressing’s Mother’s Day wish came from their rather dishy hunk. As he posed half naked, he urged the fans to wish their mothers a “Zesty Mother’s Day” with flowers. The handsome hunk, flowers and Kraft’s dressing sure have added up to a Zesty Mother’s Day for the brand.

This picture, from 101 Dalmatians, reminded everyone of the classic cartoon and the adorable bond between Perdita, the mother and her pups. Data Analysis Methodology
The Engagement Score calculation is based on the number of Likes, Comments, Shares and estimated impressions, so a page with a lower fan base can still have a better engagement score than a page with a huge fan base even if they don’t get as many interactions. All data has been compiled and analyzed from the Unmetric application which tracks dozens of metrics to enable brands to benchmark themselves against competitors and their industry sector.
